On Thursday, February 8th, Paris 2024 unveiled the medals for the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games. These medals encapsulate the creativity of Paris 2024 through an extraordinary concept: the fusion of the Games’ most coveted symbol with the iconic representation of France and Paris—the Eiffel Tower. Each medalist will be presented with a fragment of authentic iron from the Eiffel Tower, symbolically placed at the core of their medal. In shaping its design, Paris 2024 engaged its Athletes’ Commission and partnered with Chaumet, a distinguished Maison under the LVMH group and a Premium Partner of the Paris 2024 Games.
The XXXIII Olympic Games will take place from July 26th to August 11th in Paris. Mauritius will indeed be represented. Five athletes, including cyclists Christopher Lagane and Kimberley LeCourt de Billot, as well as kite surfers Julie Paturau and Jean de Falbaire, along with marathon runner Marie Perrier, have already secured their qualification for the Olympics.
