Olympic Day Run and Indian Ocean Island Games 2023 Pre-Selected Athletes Gathering: A Celebration of Excellence and Unity

On July 8, 2023, the Mauritian sporting community came together for an exhilarating celebration of athleticism, unity, and the Olympic spirit during the Olympic Day Run Relay. This remarkable event was organized collaboratively by the Mauritius Olympic Committee, the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Recreation, the MRC, GoSport, and the Embassy of France in Mauritius.

The Olympic Day Run Relay commenced at the Pte Jerome Outdoor Centre with the participation of over 200 athletes, representatives of National Federations and delegates. The culmination of the run took place at the Blue Bay Beach Arena, where a sense of unity and camaraderie prevailed. Here, a multitude of sport disciplines were showcased, bringing together athletes, sports enthusiasts, and the local community. It was a testament to the power of sports to unite people and foster a sense of togetherness.
