Mauritian beach volleyball players Lisa Bonne and Natacha Rigobert narrowly missed qualifying for the Commonwealth Games scheduled for July 28 to August 8 in Birmingham, England. They failed against the host country, Ghana, in the final of the African qualifying tournament over the weekend. It is therefore the Ghanaian team that pockets the ticket for the British event. Lisa Bonne and Natacha Rigobert can still hope to compete in the Commonwealth Games. The Mauritian Olympic Committee has requested the Commonwealth Games Federation to invite the local beach volleyball at this sporting event.
