About a year and a half before the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, a new structure called “Horizon Olympique Paralympique de l’Élite” (HOPE) has been created by the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Recreation with the aim of supporting potential qualified mauritian athletes in the conquest of a podium for the next Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The project was launched on Tuesday at the Côte d’Or National Sports Complex in the presence of the Minister of Sports, Stephan Toussaint, the President of the Mauritius Olympic Committee, Philippe Hao Thyn Voon, and the French Ambassador in Mauritius, Florence Caussé-Tissier.
Placed under the presidency of Dominique Filleul, HOPE will also target athletes and implement programs for them for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
The athletes selected for Paris 2024 are placed in 2 categories:
Group A – Merven Clair, Richarno Colin (boxing), Kimberley Le Court de Billot (biking), Jérémie Lararaudeuse and Noa Bibi (athletjcs), Christianne Legentil, Priscilla Morand, Rémi Feuillet and Sébastien Perrine (judo), Noemi Alphonse, Anaïs Angeline, Roberto Michel, Denovan Rabaye, Eddy Capdor, Brigila Clair, Andora Asaun and Brandy Perrine ( para sport)
Group B
Tracy Durhone (judo), Jean de Falbaire and Julie Paturau (sailing) et Terence Saramandif (canoeing and kayaking)
