MOC celebrated the Children Olympic Fun Day

The Children’s Olympic Fun Day was part of the Olympism 365 initiative of the National Olympic Academy of Mauritius to promote Olympic values and propagate Olympic education throughout the community and reaching maximum youngsters towards Olympic Values.

Held on 17 December 2022, the event was a full day activity having three main set objectives on the sports, social and educational pillars, consisting of an Olympic Education session that included a presentation on Olympic values, Olympic film show, OVEP toolkit activities for the kids and initiation to sport activities. The initiation to sport activities included the demonstration of Air Badminton, Rugby, Basketball, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Wrestling and Archery under the supervision of athletes and coaches of the respective federations.

For this year’s Children Olympic Fun day, the children were from the regions of Tyack, Benares, Riviere des Anguilles, Cite Barkly and Cite Beau Sejour.

The event was successfully organised thanks to all partners involved in the planning and implementation of the event with the support of the President, members & staff of the Mauritius Olympic Committee, members of NOAM, athletes/ coaches from respective national federations and also volunteers from the ASMC 9 cohort.
