Ziggy Agathe was beaten by the Kenyan Nicholas Okongo Okoth on Tuesday night in the quarter-finals of the African Elite Championships. The 21-year-old Mauritian boxer was engaged in the under 60kg category. In the round of 16, Agathe beat Mozambican Naimo Guilherme Cumbane.
It was the Mauritius Olympic Committee that financed the travel expenses for Ziggy Agathe to Maputo. The latter benefits an Olympic scholarship as part of their preparation for Paris 2024.
