The Mauritian judoka Priscilla Morand was crowned African champion on Thursday in Algeria after her victory over the Tunisian Oumaima Bedioui in the final (-48 kg). The Olympic scholarship holder offers to Mauritius a continental gold medal 24 years after Jean-Claude Raphaël and Marie-Michèle St-Louis. They had won the African title in 1998 in Senegal.
Christianne Legentil also climbs on the podium at these African championships. She wins the silver medal after losing the final (-57 kg) against Algerian Yamina Halata.
