32 aspiring coaches had the opportunity to participate in the FIVB Coaches Course level 1, conducted by French instructor André Glaive, at the Pandit Sahadeo gymnasium in Vacoas. A project funded by the Mauritius Olympic Committee through Olympic Solidarity and the support of the International Volley-ball Federation. For the President of the Mauritian Volley-ball Federation, Fayzal Bundhun, who considers training to be an essential pillar in the development process, this course will therefore make it possible to train competent coaches to achieve the objectives set by volleyball in the short, medium and long term. The former volleyball player hopes that the knowledge acquired during this training will be highlighted and passed on to others who did not have the chance to participate.
The President of the Mauritius Olympic Committee, Philippe Hao Thyn Voon abounded in the same direction during the opening of the course on Monday. “It is a great pleasure to help Mauritian volleyball through Olympic solidarity. This training is an important step for the development of the discipline. I invite participants to pass on their knowledge to youngsters.”
